Brief
MFIN, the Self-Regulatory Organization (SRO) for India’s microfinance sector, needed a centralized platform to overcome fragmented reporting. Stakeholders such as MFIs, regulators, and policy makers required consistent and timely access to operational, financial, and compliance data, which had previously existed in silos across bureaus, field apps, and internal reports
Idea
The goal was to build a Datahub, a unified digital repository that consolidates data from multiple sources into a single, accessible system. It would allow member institutions to benchmark against peers, support compliance and risk monitoring, and provide regulators and policy makers with greater transparency for decision-making.
Execution
We developed a secure web-based application with member login access and role-based permissions. The system unified self-reported data, bureau records, and field intelligence from tools like RADAR into a normalized structure. Integrations with MFIN’s existing publications enabled seamless use of data for industry reports and insights. Security protocols and phased rollout ensured scalability and data confidentiality.
Outcome
The Datahub delivered a sector-wide platform for benchmarking, risk detection, and streamlined reporting. It improved transparency for regulators and investors, reduced duplication of effort for MFIs, and enabled faster, evidence-based decision-making at both institutional and policy levels. With its launch, MFIN positioned itself as a digital leader in strengthening India’s microfinance ecosystem.
